Wendy Cumming
Wendy Cumming has a long career in
government and public relations, strategic communications and market
positioning. Currently President of her
own consulting firm, Wendy was formerly Vice-President, Canadian Federation of
Municipalities and Senior VP at Hill and Knowlton.
John Fielding
John
Fielding has been Director Business Development at the Ontario Centres of
Excellence since 2006. Before joining OCE, John
was with Bookham, Nortel and Mitel Semiconductors in a variety of roles
including business forecasting, product line management, process development, organizational cost management and product and
fabrication engineering.
Kelly Holman
Mr. Holman is co-Founder and Managing
Director of Genesys Capital and has extensive commercial and technical
experience in the biotechnology industry. Since co-founding Genesys Capital in
2000, Mr. Holman has been actively involved in raising over $225 million of
venture capital and has been instrumental in deploying over $100 million across
20 investments. Prior to co-founding Genesys Capital, Mr. Holman was a Senior
Investment Manager with MDS Capital Corp. where he was involved in all stages
of investment from start-up and early-stage to mezzanine stage and public
company investing.
Dan Mathers
Mr. Mathers has over 22 years of
experience in business development in high-growth technology companies,
creating over $1B in shareholder value. Mr. Mathers is Chairman, eSight
Corporation (Ottawa) and is Entrepreneur in
Residence at Communitech (Waterloo). Prior to eSight, Mr. Mathers was President
and CEO of IceFyre Inc., a venture-backed technology company developing 802.11
semiconductor products. Prior to IceFyre, Dan was Senior VP and General
Manager, Semiconductor Division, at MOSAID Technologies Inc., leading the
successful development of the company's fabless semiconductor businesses. Under
Dan's leadership, MOSAID secured patent licensing agreements with five of the
world's top semiconductor manufacturers, and developed multiple semiconductor product
lines targeting networking equipment.
Ken Newport
Mr. Newport, co-founded CroMedica
International Inc., a contract research organization, in 1995. In 2002,
CroMedica was sold to PRA International, one of the world's largest contract
research organizations. From 2002 to 2005 Mr. Newport was Senior Vice President
of PRA's International Business Development.
Mr. Newport is the Chair of the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute
(OHRI) and serves on the Boards of several biotechnology companies.
Ian Rathwell (Chair)
Ian Rathwell serves as Chair, OTTN
Board. A partner with Deloitte and
Touche LLP, Ian works with many technology companies with his expertise in
technology financing and research tax issues. Active in the community, Mr. Rathwell
serves on the Board of the Outreach Foundation.
Alan Rottenberg
Alan Rottenberg has a long career in
software and is an experienced entrepreneur and investor. Founder of Grebnettor Inc, Alan has acted in
business development for several firms including Workbrain and Cognos. Active in the community, Alan serves as the

Ron Vered
Ron Vered, is CEO of Arnon
Corporation and past President of Ron Engineering and Construction (Eastern)
Ltd., privately-owned real estate and construction companies based in Ottawa with international
experience. Through the Vered Foundation, the Vered family has been active in
and supportive of numerous causes including the United Jewish Appeal, the University of Ottawa Heart
Institute, the University of Ottawa and the Ottawa Hospital.
Ron has been an angel investor and Board
member of several start-up companies including biotechnology companies Liponex
and Jennerex Biotherapeutics
